Explore the Ancient Sites of Kulen Mountain by Motorbike (as passenger)
After a one-hour drive to sacred Kulen Mountain, where Jayavarman II founded the Khmer Empire in AD 802, begin your motorbike exploration as a passenger. Visit Poeng Tbal’s riverbed carvings of Shiva, Vishnu, and Ganesh before continuing to Prasat Rong Chen, the three-tiered pyramid marking the birthplace of the Khmer Empire and the ancient city of Mahendraparvata. Follow small forest paths to a modern temple with scenic views, explore a Bat Cave with a shrine, and visit Srah Damrei, known for its impressive life-size stone elephant and companion statues. Enjoy a packed lunch, then continue past more carvings at Damrei Krap before concluding the ride at Preah Ang Thom. On the return journey, stop at the River of a Thousand Lingas and the refreshing Kulen Waterfall, with an optional visit to Banteay Srei if time permits; long trousers and insect repellent are recommended.
