Today, embark on a fascinating journey through Phnom Penh's architectural wonders. Travel by cyclo, a traditional Cambodian bicycle-powered rickshaw, to explore the city's rich heritage. Marvel at colonial buildings dating back to 1910 and discover hidden gems of religious architecture. Lunch awaits at Kravanh Restaurant, renowned for its elegant approach to classic Cambodian cuisine. Following your culinary indulgence, visit the iconic Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, adorned with over 5,000 silver tiles. Continue your cultural immersion at the National Museum, home to the world's foremost collection of Khmer art. Opt to explore the charming Street 178 area or visit the historic Wat Phnom. Overnight in Phnom PenhDay 3: Phnom Penh - Battambang (B/L)
Embark on a scenic overland journey to Battambang, a province renowned for its picturesque rice fields and orchards. En route, savor a delectable lunch at a Smiling Gecko Farm House, a sustainable cluster project that provides accommodation for guests in spacious bungalows surrounded by rice-fields. After lunch, embark on a two hours farm tour, The Smiling Gecko Project not only runs the sustainable luxury Farmhouse Resort, but also supports a bilingual school and kindergarten, as well as various craft workshops, in which disadvantaged young adults from all parts of Cambodia are trained. Another focus is on agriculture and animal husbandry. Most of the meat and fish, as well as the organic fruits and vegetables produced here are used in the resort’s restaurants. Upon arrival in Battambang, delve into its rich history with a visit to Sompov Hill, home to the haunting Killing Caves, a sobering reminder of Cambodia's turbulent past. Stay until sunset to witness the mesmerizing sight of bats emerging from the caves. Conclude the day with a transfer back to your hotel, where dinner arrangements are at your leisure.
Overnight in BattambangDay 4: Battambang (B/L)
Discover rural life with a morning village tour by Remork (local Tuk-Tuk). Accompanied by your guide, explore Battambang's idyllic countryside. Visit local families crafting traditional products like rice paper and dried bananas. Gain insight into rural life, comprising 70% of Cambodia's population, and sample their delicacies. After a stop at a traditional Khmer house for seasonal fruits, explore Wat Ek Phnom temple. Enjoy a lunch at Ja-an Bai Restaurant, a social enterprise restaurant which runs to provide employment for Cambodian youth After lunch we will take you to the "Bamboo Train", a simple construction with bamboo sticks as a base - a unique experience! In recent years, this type of train could still be driven across Cambodia. Now, this experience is only possible on an 8km stretch in Battambang and rumor has it that the government can close this last little piece of unique transportation at any time. The town is famous for its French colonial architecture and fertile soil. Take a short stroll through town to see various art galleries and old colonial buildings. Your local guide will explain some important facts of each of them. Depending on the time, we suggest you visit Kinyei café for a tasty local coffee run by a social enterprise. During the walk, you can also visit a local market. This local market is very popular with the locals for dinner. Then, we will take you to Miss Wong’s Bar for a pre- dinner cocktail, and relax in this venue’s beautiful atmosphere. Afterward transfer back to the hotel. Dinner will be on your own.
Overnight in BattambangDay 5: Battambang – Siem Reap (B/D)
Journey onward to Siem Reap, with scenic stops along the way to discover local delicacies and culinary traditions. In the evening, enjoy a tasty dinner with Apsara Dances Performance.
Overnight in Siem ReapDay 6: Siem Reap (B/L/D)
Rise early to witness the breathtaking sunrise at Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the awe-inspiring temple complex with a knowledgeable local guide, unraveling the mysteries of its ancient corridors and bas-relief carvings. After a brief respite and breakfast, continue your exploration of Angkor Thom city, home to iconic landmarks such as the Bayon Temple and the Terrace of Elephants. Indulge in an authentic Khmer lunch before venturing to Ta Prohm temple, famously engulfed by the roots of towering trees In the evening, enjoy explore the local food scene on the back of Vespa (Join In tour) Hop on the Vespa through the cooler night air and less traffic which makes it enjoyable. The ride is completely safe, our experienced drivers are mindful and cautious. Enjoy everything delicious from street-side eateries to the proper restaurants whilst including evening time through local beer during your food adventure. First stop, enjoy “Lot Cha Siem Reap” at the proper restaurant and then continue to the “Made in Cambodia Market” that brings together the most exciting examples of craftsmanship in Cambodia. Second stop, tasting the Khmer Noodles and getting soft drinks while you’re at it. Khmer noodles is a Cambodian rice noodle, which is known as Num Banh Chok in Khmer, and it’s often known as “Khmer noodle” and then walking through the local night market (60 roads), where you can try some bugs, enjoy shops and arrays of vendors selling clothes, street food, and fruit. Third stop is getting dinner at the local restaurant where you can choose your own dishes. At the last stop, you will visit Asana Bar is a laidback drinking spot with a wonderful location in one of the small side allies of the Pub Street.
Overnight in Siem ReapDay 7: Siem Reap (B/L/D)
Immerse yourself in Cambodian culinary traditions with a morning Cambodian Cooking class in a local Khmer Wooden House. Learn the art of Khmer cuisine from a skilled local chef, and savor the fruits of your labor amid a picturesque garden setting. After lunch, embark on a captivating boat journey to the Great Tonle Sap Lake, exploring its floating villages and witnessing the daily life of local fishermen. Dinner today will take place in a private Khmer house for a special Chef’s Table, where the finest ingredients are carefully blended to create a distinct, exhilarating and elegant gastronomic experience. Head chef Phy is known for his innovative and immersive culinary experiences. He is always on a quest to showcase the richness of Cambodian cuisine while also elevating it to a more refined and upscale dining experience. The menu changes approx. every three months, taking seasonal ingredients into the creative fusion dishes.
