Day 1: Yangon Arrival
Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, meet your tour guide and transfer to your hotel for refreshment. In the evening, visit the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most sacred site, renowned for its golden stupa and spiritual atmosphere where locals gather to pray and offer devotions.
Overnight in YangonDay 2: Yangon – Heho – Kalaw (B)
Transfer to the domestic airport for your flight to Heho. Upon arrival, drive to Kalaw. Visit the vibrant Kalaw local market, a great place to observe local life and try traditional Shan noodles. Continue to the clock tower area and the colonial-era Kalaw railway station. In the afternoon, visit Hnee Paya, Kalaw’s oldest Buddha shrine, followed by a scenic drive to Palaung Taung viewpoint to enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and farmlands. Note: Program may vary depending on domestic flight schedule.
Overnight in KalawDay 3: Kalaw – Nyaung Shwe – Inle Lake (B)
After breakfast, drive to Nyaung Shwe near Inle Lake. En route, stop at Shweyanpyay Monastery, known for its intricate teak carvings. Upon arrival, board a private long-tail boat to explore Inle Lake. Visit Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery with its collection of Buddha images, and Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake’s holiest site. Continue to Maing Thauk village, partly on stilts and connected by a 450-yard wooden bridge. Return to your hotel.
Overnight in Inle/Nyaung ShweDay 4: Inle – Traditional Snack village – Taunggyi – Inle (B)
If a 5-day rotational market is scheduled, visit it first for local produce, handicrafts, and lakeside scenes. Continue by boat to Khaung Daing village, known for traditional tofu-based snacks. Learn about their preparation and enjoy tastings. Then, drive through the hills to Taunggyi, the capital of Southern Shan State. Visit Sulamuni Pagoda and Shwe Phone Pwint Pagoda for sweeping views over the city and lake. Return to your hotel in Nyaung Shwe.
Overnight in Inle/Nyaung ShweDay 5: Nyaung Shwe – Heho – Yangon (B)
Transfer to Heho Airport for your return flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, visit Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, home to a revered 66-meter-long reclining Buddha. Continue to Kandawgyi Park, a tranquil lake area ideal for photography with views of the Karaweik Hall and Shwedagon Pagoda. End the day with a walk along the Yangon River to see the bustling harbor. Transfer to your hotel.
Overnight in YangonDay 6: Departure (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Yangon International Airport for your departure.
